The machine footprint is only the starting point. You also need room to mount safely, extend the straps, use a sitting box or jump board, and complete side-lying movements.
Most full-size Pilates reformers measure roughly 7.5 to 8.5 feet long and 2 to 2.5 feet wide.
For one reformer, a 10-foot by 12-foot room is an excellent target. Smaller rooms may still work when the reformer is positioned carefully or designed to fold or stand vertically after use.
